Effective treatment for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder includes certain medications and psychotherapies. Because medication can only be prescribed by a medical doctor, only professionals with an M.D. or a D.O. can offer medication treatment. Nurse practitioners (N.P.s) may also prescribe medications in some cases.

Psychobehavioral treatments can be provided by these individuals, as well as by a variety of mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, nurses and social workers, individuals who generally have master's degrees or doctoral degrees in their specialties.

Professionals included in our referral network have successfully completed our continuing medical education course (CME) on Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder or were recommended by the Distinguished Senior Scientists who assist Madison Institute of Medicine®, Inc. (MIM) in its educational mission. This is far from a comprehensive listing of qualified clinicians, but it may help point you in the right direction.
